In early 2020 "Timber Log Buildings Australia" has assembled its first solid log buildings in Northern Coastal NSW (near Mullumbimby).

Our first container has landed in Brisbane! Due to the imminent Festive Period the customs clearance will take longer than normal. Delivery is now expected to happen second or third week January 2020.

Our first container ended up to be quite an interesting exercise, yet again reinforcing the simple fact that import costs can NOT be forecasted accurately.
After the usual delays caused by the Festive Season, we received notice from our customs agent that the "Australian Quarantine Inspection Service" (AQIS) had introduced new rules with regards to the fumigation of all imported timber products. There was no lead-in period, no prior advice, the changes came into effect that day they were announced, and applied to ALL containers cleared by Australian customs as of that day. This included containers already on a ship heading to Australia, already on the wharf, already having been checked and given the "all clear" but not having left the ports yet - ALL containers with raw timber products. This ended up costing us an additional $6,500 for our 40Ft High Cube container. Ouch, talking about a "shotgun wedding"!

Unfortunately, right now visiting our display is only possible for anyone residing in NSW or Qld, due to various and ever changing restrictions placed upon us by state governments to combat Covid19.

All good to go - further easing of Covid19 related travel restrictions means that close to anyone can now travel to Mullumbimby and have a look at our beautiful cabins on display! We welcome all inquiries.

Covid19 travel restrictions and lock-downs are still causing major disruptions to nearly all businesses - our log cabin display still attracts a steady flow of log cabin enthusiasts, taking advantage of its more rural location just off the M1.
